Over the weekend, Prince William residents came out to the future site of the Central District Police Station and Fire & Rescue Station #26 in Woodbridge, to help with a reforestation project.
Dozens of volunteers from the community came out to plant trees on the property.
“The community has come together for a reforestation project along Davis Ford [Road] where the new police and fire station are being built. The residents wanted more trees, and the people building the facilities are supporting it,” said Occoquan Supervisor Ruth Anderson.
According to Prince William County’s Arborist Julie Flanagan, around 470 trees were planted.
“Make a point of coming back over time. Come back next year, come back in five years, come back in 20 years. And you’re gonna see just a big transformation here,” said Flanagan.
