Several community organizations came together to provide school supplies and backpacks for students in the Dale City, Neabsco area.
The backpack and school supplies drive was coordinated by Supervisor John Jenkins, The Lutheran Church of The Covenant, the Bel Air Women’s Club, Woodbridge H.U.G.S, The Woodbridge Rotary Club, Dale City Civic Association, and area Moose Lodge.
More than 120 backpacks and additional school supplies were collected and given to area schools including Bel Air Elementary, Dale City Elementary, Enterprise Elementary, Fitzgerald Elementary, Kerrydale Elementary, King Elementary, Minnieville Elementary, Neabsco Elementary, Penn Elementary, Beville Middle Schools, Hampton Middle School, and Gar-Field High School, according to Neabsco District School Board Member Diane Raulston.
“Every one of our schools in Neabsco will be getting some [supplies] – including our high school, two middle schools, and all nine of our elementary schools,” said Raulston.
According to Neabsco Elementary School Guidance Counselor Jennifer Brooks, these supplies will really help her students.
“Students will come in, and they won’t necessarily have all of the supplies that they need, but here, we have our fantastic organizations that have helped us to get these supplies…all of the things our kids need to be successful,” said Brooks.
