Lane closures and delays are expected along several parts of I-95 this week.
Prince William
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), there will be lane closures – both northbound and southbound – between Cardinal Drive and the Dale City rest area, from March 6 to March 9.
The work in Prince William will include inspecting the bridges over Neabsco Creek, stated VDOT.
Here is the closure schedule for this week:
Monday, March 6: Southboundright lane closed between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; northbound two right lanes between 10 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., then southbound two right lanes between 1:30 and 4:30 a.m.
Tuesday, March 7: Northbound left lane closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Wednesday, March 8: Southboundright lane closed between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 9: Northbound left lane closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Fredericksburg
In addition to the closures on I-95 in Prince William, there will be some in Fredericksburg as well.
According to a release, lanes will be closed overnight through March 9 as VDOT crews continue to work on the Fall Hill Avenue overpass.
“Crews will continue to clean and stain the new bridge, which is located at mile marker 131 in Fredericksburg, as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project,” stated VDOT.

Sunday, March 5: I-95 Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
Double lane closure 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m.
All lanes reopen to traffic by 5 a.m.
Monday, March 6: I-95 Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
Single lane closure at 9:30 p.m.
Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
All lanes reopen to traffic by 5 a.m.
Tuesday, March 7 ˗˗ Thursday, March 9: I˗95 Northbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
Single lane closure at 9 p.m.
Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
All lanes re-open to traffic by 4:30 a.m.
