Visit a flashback from the past at the Civil War encampment in Bristow on April 9.
The free event will be held at 11 a.m. from 4 p.m. at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre at 12229 Bristow Road in Bristow, according to a release.
According to a release, the 49th Virginia and 3rd ANV regiment will be hosting the encampment as part of their drill weekend.
Members of the regiment will act as living Civil War historians, and will talk about how the units were formed, trained, and drilled, according to a release.
In 1861, Prince William residents met in Brentsville and voted to secede from the United States, and began forming units to prepare for war, according to a release.
