Want to bring beauty to the area, using recycled materials?
According to a release, the City of Manassas and American Disposal Services are partnering for a ‘Recycled Outdoor Art Competition’.
“The competition is in an effort to bring attention to America Recycles Day in November. It is also one more way to celebrate artists in the community,” stated a release.
More on the contest, from a release:
This competition is for 3D artists who can create from recycled or recyclable materials including: cans, plastic containers and paper. The competition is open to all adults and students over 14 years of age in Northern Virginia. Individual and group submissions will be considered.
The top pieces will be displayed in Nelson Park in the City of Manassas during the month of November 2017. The Artist(s) of the winning piece will be awarded a $1,000 grand prize from American Disposal Services, Inc.
America Recycles Day is a Keep America Beautiful national initiative, and is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.
Every year, thousands of communities across the United States participate by promoting environmental citizenship and taking action to increase and improve recycling in America. The City of Manassas has been actively involved in establishing community events that help change the way we think about recycling and provide a positive and artistic look at the 3Rs – reduce – reuse – recycle.
