Community members will be receiving a behind-the-scenes look at the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) this spring.
Officials are accepting applications for the Citizens Police Academy, which is running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. between April 3 and June 5.
It will be held at the Prince William County Public Safety Training Center in Nokesville.
The 10-week academy will teach participants about various topics, including criminal investigations and crime scene management, according to a release.
They will ride with a patrol officer and learn about firearms, as well.
Those interested in the program must fill out an application. Officials will perform a background check and mail letters to selected applicants a month before the academy session begins.
