Lutheran Church of the Covenant (LCOC) is helping support local students.
The Dale City church has donated more than 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to Neabsco Elementary School.
Thrivent Financial and church members assisted with the third annual backpack drive, according LCOC Council Member Patti Beattie.
Pastor Darcy Tillman and four individuals from the congregation delivered the supplies to School Counselor Jennifer Brooks on Thursday.
The backpack drive is one way LCOC seeks to help Neabsco Elementary.
“The church strives to support the school throughout the school year, not only with backpacks, but also non-perishable foodstuffs, and a special Operation Turkey drive at Thanksgiving,” Beattie wrote in an email.
