County residents have a chance to help those affected by chronic diseases.
The Prince William Area Agency on Aging is providing free training that will teach participants how to lead Chronic Disease Self-Management Program workshops.
Handling fatigue and receiving support from others are among the topics community members learn about through the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, according to a release from Prince William County.
Training for prospective workshop leaders consists of four sessions, which are scheduled for November 1, November 2, November 8, and November 9.
They will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sudley North Government Building, 7987 Ashton Avenue in Manassas.
Participants will need to read workbooks to prepare for the lessons, according to Area Agency on Aging Program Coordinator Jodie Houser.
“The class will give more detail about what is covered that day,” Houser said in a release.
After completing the program, they must run two workshops during the next 12 months.
Individuals who would like to participate in the training should register by contacting Houser at 571-241-3925 or jhouser@pwcgov.org.
