Public safety officials from China met with Prince William public safety officials on August 17.
According to a release, the Chinese delegation met with Prince William Emergency Services Manager Pat Collins to talk about best practices for Emergency Operations Centers.
The Chinese delegation consisted of 23 individuals from Beijing, and was sponsored by the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, according to a release.
This is the second delegation from China that Prince William has hosted, stated a release.
During the meeting, the delegation was offered information about the county’s demographics and emergency management program and in turn offered up some of their public safety experiences in China, according to a release.
“The goal of this government sponsored program is to enhance the capability and skills of emergency professionals, in the public and private sector, concerning emergency and risk management. Beijing, an international city, is facing ever-increasing challenges, internationally and domestically, with hazards such as floods, chemicals, and terrorist attacks,” stated a release.
