Enjoy the last few weeks of summer at one of these top Prince William ice cream spots.
Haymarket
Cookies & Cream – This shop has been going strong for the past few years now, and are well known for their ice cream sandwiches (made with cookies, of course!). Located at 14650 Washington Street in Haymarket, the shop is located in a 1927-kit home.
“We offer premium hard-serve ice cream from Gifford’s and cookies that are baked in our shop. We also serve many soda drink options including original speciality drinks and Italian sodas, all made to order. Our outdoor seating with lights and the adjacent playground makes a trip to the ice cream shop all the more fun. Friendly service and yummy treats are waiting for you here,” says their Facebook page.
Pickle Bob’s Ice Cream – Pickle Bob’s is another summer time staple that you have to try in Haymarket. Located at 15401 Kapp Valley Way, the shop opened up in 2003. They’re focused on being a family friendly business and always have the 50s and 60s music ready for you to dance along to.
“We offer only the freshest of fruits, the finest nuts, the sweetest candies, and the yummiest cookies in town. So whatever your order, you can be sure it’s fresh and filled with fabulous flavor. If you love ice cream, you can be sure to find your favorite here. We offer sundaes, shakes, cones, tornados, floats, pies and Pickle Bob’sTM Specials,” states their website.
Manassas
Moo Moo Junction – Moo Moo is one of the newest additions to the Downtown Manassas area. Formerly a carriage house and garage space attached to a historic home, this walk up ice cream bar, located at 9119 Church Street offers all homemade items – homemade ice cream, and even homemade whipped cream!
“We are a veteran owned small business focused on producing fun and delicious culinary treats for the local town and you,” states their Facebook page.
Jitterbug’s Ice Cream – This shop is another new addition to Manassas, and what a sweet treat! Styled in a vintage 1950s theme, the café allows both inside seating and a walk up counter, as well as a full food menu. The shop is located along the main strip downtown at 9125 Center Street. They even offer a reserved both for a membership of $75 per year, which is donated to youth athletic programs.
Kline’s Freeze – This seasonal ice cream joint has been a staple in the community for decades, and is known for being a no fuss, classic place to grab some ice cream. Located along Route 28 at 8200 Centreville Road, you can quickly grab a concrete or a large sundae – it’s up to you!
Nathan’s Dairy Bar – Located at 8948 Mathis Avenue, it’s hard to miss Nathan’s, with its walk up counter and bright red signage and outdoor umbrellas. The business was started back in 2001, and was named after the owner’s son Nathan.
“We offer a plethora of soft serve ice cream flavors as well as sherbet flavors. Our special flavors change twice a week. We post daily updates on our Facebook page of what the ice cream flavors are as well as our daily hours,” states their Facebook page.
Woodbridge
Frostie Moose – A seasonal ice cream spot you can’t beat in Woodbridge is the Frostie Moose. Known for specializing in soft serve ice cream, the location is open at 12581 Milstead Way until winter comes around. And the moose logo is pretty neat too.
“We make shakes, banana splits, strawberry short cake, sundaes,” states their Facebook page.
