Ready for some Celtic music with a lot of heart? Then head to the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas on March 18.
According to a release, the Irish band Danú will be performing for a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Hylton Center on the 18th at 8 p.m.
“This concert honors the rich musical tradition of Ireland with a mixed performance of high-energy contemporary Celtic beats blended with the well-known traditional Irish jigs,” stated a release.
The band will be performing pieces in both English and Irish, and will try to present the best of Irish music, according to a release.

Hailing from Ireland’s historic County Waterford, Danú has built a massive fan base worldwide due to its ebullient performances and mastery of traditional Celtic instruments. Loyal fans around the world enjoy the virtuosity of the ensemble performing traditional Celtic instruments such as fiddle, tin whistle, flute, button accordion, percussion and bouzouki. The talented instrumentalists are combined with captivating vocalists and top-notch Celtic dancers to create an unforgettable performance. The recipient of numerous BBC and Irish Music Magazine awards, Danú has performed for audiences throughout Europe, the Middle East and North America at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Symphony Space in New York City and major concert engagements in the United Kingdom, India and Israel. The band has released eight recordings and its live performances are often broadcast on NPR, the CBC and the BBC. The band’s live DVD, “One Night Stand,” was filmed at Vicar St. Dublin.
Before the performance, Danú will host a discussion with ticket holders at the Buchanan Partner Art Gallery, stated a release.
