Gainesville commuters may experience a change in traffic next week.
A portion of one Gainesville Road will be closed between 7 a.m. on Monday and 3:30 p.m. on August 9.
Officials are closing Catharpin Road from the northern Executive Drive intersection to Route 234 while a stormwater pipe is being replaced, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
Emergency personnel and those living in the closed section will be allowed to access the area, but they will not be permitted to travel past the pipe replacement point in either direction.
While the work is being completed, traffic will be rerouted to Route 234, Pageland Lane, Route 29 and Heathcote Boulevard.
