Pregnant women who are in need can find refuge in western Prince William County.
Carried to Full Term is hosting its third annual Life is a Gift Gala at 7 p.m. on December 7.
The Haymarket-based non-profit offers long-term housing to women who are pregnant.
Thirty days after they’re admitted, the organization’s leaders complete an assessment to learn what each resident’s needs and goals are.
“Technically, we take care of the whole individual, but we also – in the process – have to teach them the tools that they need to arrive at a place where they can even consider becoming independent and self-sufficient,” Founder Frances Robin said.
Moms also learn how to respond to crisis, and how to take care of themselves and their children.
Carried to Full Term’s upcoming fundraiser will be taking place at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.
“It’s our gala where we celebrate our moms, their commitment to the program, what they’ve accomplished in the time that they’ve been with us,” Robin said.
The event will offer dinner, dancing, and an opportunity to support the program.
