A local non-profit is aiding moms and women who are pregnant.
Based out of Haymarket, Carried to Full Term provides long-term housing to those in crisis.
It seeks to break patterns that result in poverty.
Participants gain life skills through the program. They are allowed to stay for up to 2 years and must attend classes, which includes parenting, personal hygiene, nutrition and financial management.
The organization is seeking support from the community through its Life is a Gift gala.
Starting at 6 p.m. on December 7, the fundraiser will take place at Evergreen Country Club, 15900 Berkeley Drive in Haymarket.
Tickets may be purchased on the housing program’s website.
“Every dollar that is received at Carried to Full Term, all of it really goes back into the [organization] — whether it’s through the housing or through the programs that equip mothers to live outside of the home to be fully independent and to be self-sufficient,” Director Frances Robin said.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Businesses may purchase tables for the gala. They can also buy an ad that will be included in the booklet or donate an item for the silent auction.
“There are opportunities for businesses of various sizes to participate in support of Carried to Full Term,” Robin said.
