Carmello’s, a restaurant based in Downtown Manassas, fed more than 35 BARN Community Housing residents in Bristow for Christmas.
BARN Community Housing is a Prince William nonprofit that has helped the county’s homeless for more than 20 years. Carmello’s is a restaurant that serves American cuisine with Portuguese and Mediterranean influences, and was started in 1987. Monza in Manassas is a sister restaurant.
“Started by the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia, BARN is located on the monastery grounds. BARN is about helping families overcome the obstacles – emotional and financial –empowering these individuals to trust in their own abilities and strive to be the best version of themselves,” stated a release.
The restaurant dropped of the Christmas dinner to feed the 12 BARN families, including some of their well-known tortellini crema rosa.
“Partnering with BARN was truly one of the highlights of our holidays. Knowing that we could help bring some holiday spirit to others was memorable for our entire Carmello’s team,” stated Carmello’s owner Alice Pires in a release.
