Election Day will be arriving soon. Local residents can learn more about those running for congress in Virginia’s 7th and 10th districts on October 26.
A candidate meet and greet will be held by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (PWCAC DST), Prince William Chapter of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NACCP), National Coalition of 100 Black Women Prince William County Chapter, and Prince William-Stafford County National Pan-Hellenic Council.
These organizations don’t endorse candidates and aren’t biased to certain political parties, according to a release from PWCAC DST.
The virtual forum begins at 7 p.m. Hung Cao, U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger, Coles District Supervisor Yesli Vega, and U.S. Representative Jennifer Wexton, will be involved.
Spanberger and Vega are running for the 7th district, which Spanberger oversees. District 7 encompasses Stafford County, part of Prince William County, and additional places further south.
Cao and Wexton are candidates of the 10th district, which Wexton represents. It covers Loudoun County, and sections of Fairfax County, Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.
The candidate meet and greet participants will discuss their ideas and answer any questions provided by attendees. PWCAC DST member Talia Fletcher-Gay is serving as moderator.
