Many pedestrians and cyclists are injured or die in crashes each year.
A “Street Smart” campaign that seeks to decrease collisions is occurring until November 30.
Law enforcement officers are going to be watchful of speeding vehicles, and those that go through stop lights or stop signs, according to a release from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).
They will also looking for cars that are driving without their headlights when it’s dark, raining or foggy.
PWCPD advises pedestrians to face traffic while walking. They should also wear clothes that are light in color and hold a flashlight when it’s dark.
