The Brentsville Jail was established almost 200 years ago.
In addition to serving as a jail, the facility was previously a dorm, a house, and a place for offices.
Made up of six cells and two rooms, it stands within walking distance of the Brentsville Courthouse, according to the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre webpage. The Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre is located at 12229 Bristow Road in Bristow.
The public can explore this historic building, which recently opened as the Brentsville Jail Museum, according to a release from the Office of Communications. Visitors will be able to learn about Brentsville and its residents, as well.
