Community members may be able to see more of Prince William County’s natural beauty this time next year, if all goes as planned.
Work continues on Prince William County’s boardwalk project.
Nature Bridges is building the trail, which will cross over Neabsco Creek in Woodbridge. It will connect the Rippon Landing Community Park and the Julie A. Metz Wetlands Preserve.
Construction began on the boardwalk last month.
The walkway is still expected to reach completion this upcoming December, Matthew White, Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation project manager, said in an email.
So far, White added, Nature Bridges has finished decking and construction for 800 feet of the “main boardwalk.”
“The plan is to complete the primary boardwalk connection to the Neabsco Creek Wetland Preserve (approximately 3,100 linear feet) then move on to construction of the two landing decks and the main observation deck,” White said.
