One Nashville artist is making her way to Bristow.
Irene Kelley will sing at the 1st Annual Bluegrass Concert on October 12.
Alan Jackson, Ricky Skaggs and Loretta Lynn are a few performers Kelley has written songs for, according to a release from the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia. She released her second album, “Benny’s TV Repair,” in May.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. at Youth for Tomorrow’s Peterson Chapel, 11835 Hazel Circle Drive.
Tickets cost $20 and are available for purchase on InsideNoVaTix.
Sponsorships opportunities are available. Those who would like more information may call Steffany Chaplin at 571-428-2504.
Proceeds from the event are being used to support the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia’s Jubilee Campaign.
The Benedictine Sisters of Virginia offers an array of programs, including BEACON For Adult Literacy.
It’s raising funds to build a new monastery through the campaign.
Constructed in the 1960s, the current monastery has begun to fall and isn’t safe for the sisters or visitors.
“The Benedictine sisters are near and dear to my heart, especially my aunt Sister Andrea Verchuck,” Irene Kelley said in a release. “It’s my great honor and delight to be playing a show to honor and support their Jubilee Campaign.”
