Eric Alford, the Branch Director for the Hylton Boys & Girls Club, spoke with the Dale City Civic Association about what the clubs provide to the community.
According to Alford, one big event they’ve got coming up is their ‘Blue Door’ event on April 24, replacing the annual Steak ‘n’ Stake awards dinner.
The funds raised by the Blue Door event help the Boys & Girls Clubs to help students in need pay for summer camps.
“A lot of times, we give scholarships to kids that can’t afford to come to camp,” said Alford.
This year the event is at the Hylton Club at 5070 Dale Boulevard, starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $100 each and there will be a 50/50 cash raffle, live music, and food. To get your tickets, click here.
