Many gathered for the Town of Dumfries’ Black History Month Celebration over the weekend.
The celebration was held at the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad at 3800 Graham Park Road.
During the event there were several speakers, including Dumfries Mayor Gerald Foreman, President of the Prince William County NAACP Reverend Cozy Bailey, School Board Member Lillie Jessie, and a performance by the Dumfries Elementary School Chorus.
“This event is in many ways a culmination – we look forward to it every year…we should never forget our past, we should be proud of our present, and we should prepare always for our future. And that future will always be by working together cohesively,” said Foreman.
