It was the Cold War, and the Soviet Union’s opposition needed information.
In an attempt to intercept secrets, the Americans and the British dug a tunnel into East Berlin, according to a release from the Cold War Museum.
The Berlin Tunnel will be discussed at a presentation that starts at 2 p.m. on February 23.
Old Bust Head Brewing Company and the Cold War Museum are hosting it at the brewery, 7134 Farm Station Road in Vint Hill.
Steve Vogel, a former Washington Post reporter, will speak.
Vogel reported on the military and the Berlin Wall’s fall.
In addition to his latest book, Betrayal in Berlin, he has written Through the Perilous Fight, The Star-Spangled Banner, and The Pentagon.
Tickets for the upcoming presentation are available on eventbrite for $35 and will be $45 at the door.
Those unable to attend can purchase a ticket online and see a video of it by emailing Cold War Museum Executive Director Jason Hall at jason@coldwar.org.
