Prince William-based organization Azalea Charities wrote a $1,000 check to support BB&T Bank’s ‘Coats for Kids’ coat drive.
According to a release, last year the bank’s drive helped provide coats to 2,000 homeless children in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
“The Children’s Charities Foundation has distributed brand new winter coats to more than 14,000 children from (30) thirty local charities and community organizations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area,” stated a release.
BB&T hosts several events through the year to raise funds for the effort.
“Many of our efforts address the needs of children who are an essential part of our community’s future. Christmas is a special time for kids, and we are happy to use some of the proceeds of our Corporate & Community Giving Plan to support our youth,” stated Chairman & Founder of Azalea Charities Frank Lasch in a release.
