Last night, artists and patrons gathered for the Kathleen K. Seefeldt Awards for Arts Excellence at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.
Named for former Prince William County Supervisor, the Seefeldt Awards “were established to recognize and celebrate the artists, arts organizations, volunteers, educators, and businesses that build upon and sustain Ms. Seefeldt’s legacy of public service and support for the cultural arts,” according to the program booklet.
During the event there were performances from the C.D. Hylton High School Troubadours, the Youth Orchestras of Prince William Trio, and the Colgan High School Select Choir.
“As we celebrate the arts, we realize how right it is that we gather together and have places to do that gathering across the entire county to enjoy this creative force [because of Seefeldt],” said William Reeder, a George Mason University professor and emcee for the event.
