It was all about the arts at last night’s Kathleen K. Seefeldt Awards for Arts Excellence.
The award ceremony was held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, and was hosted by the Prince William County Arts Council. The Arts Council is a group that supports and promotes the arts and artists in Prince William County.
According to Arts Council Chair Sheyna Burt, this year the organization decided to revive the award ceremony. Seefeldt, for whom the ceremony is named, is a former Prince William County Supervisor. According to Burt, Seefeldt was a passionate advocate and patron for the arts.
At this year’s event, soprano Kelly Glyptis performed, as well as piano accompanist Sarah Jane Scott.
The following individuals were awarded for their involvement in the arts:
Outstanding Arts Organization – Performing Arts for Kids
Outstanding Individual Artist – David Kirven
Outstanding Patron – Bryanna Altman
Outstanding Volunteer – Kathy Sahlberg
Outstanding Arts Educator – Ruth Johnsen and Edgemoor Art Studio, Inc.
