Are you an artist in Virginia? Then you may qualify for funding through the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) Fellowship program.
According to a release, the VMFA has given almost $5.5 million to Virginia artists through the Fellowship program, which was created more than 75 years ago.
The program offers $8,000 to professional artists, $6,000 to graduate students, and $4,000 to undergraduate students, according to a release.
Artists in the area of crafts, drawing, film and video, mixed media, new and emerging media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and graduate art history students can apply, stated a release.

All applicants must be legal residents of Virginia and student applicants must be enrolled full-time in degree-seeking programs. Applicants’ works are reviewed anonymously by distinguished jurors and awards are made based on artistic merit. The deadline for Fellowship applications is 5pm Friday, November 4, 2016.
