Andrea Short from the Prince William Chamber of Commerce has been tapped to serve as Leadership Prince William’s (LPW) new Executive Director.
LPW is a leadership program that prepares youth and adults to serve in leadership roles in various levels throughout Prince William County.
Short currently works as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Chamber. She will begin her new role in January.
“We are thrilled Andrea will be joining Leadership Prince William. With her volunteer leadership experience and talents in community outreach, media relations, and marketing, along with her deep commitment to our mission, Andrea will be a tremendous asset,” stated LPW Chair Mary Finnigan in a release.

A lifelong resident of Prince William County, Andrea currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Previously, she was Director of Events for the Chamber. Andrea has been actively involved with Leadership Prince William since 2014. She was appointed as Secretary on the Board of Regents earlier this year. She is a Class of 2015 Leadership Prince William Graduate.
According to Short, one of her first official acts will be to go on a “listening tour” with LPW alumni.
“One of the things that I want to kind of focus on in the early days as Executive Director is I want to do a listening tour…I want to make sure I’m giving our alums the opportunity to connect with me, and likewise for me to reach out to them…and make sure they’re continuing to receive value from the program, even after they’ve graduated,” said Short.
As a new LPW class is currently in session, Short is also placing a priority on continuity.
“For our current class, I want to maintain continuity for them, and make sure that they just continue to have an awesome experience,” said Short.
