The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers in Manassas for the Home Fire Campaign.
According to a release, volunteers for the Home Fire Campaign “install smoke alarms and provide home fire safety information.”
Volunteers are needed to assist with the campaign on January 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be trained to work in groups of three and four, according to a release.
“Our target area is the Georgetown South neighborhood in Manassas, a very large community where we have covered perhaps half of the area in previous campaigns. That still leaves a significant portion of homes at risk. In true Red Cross spirit, we want to give all of Georgetown South residents the opportunity to have these life-saving smoke alarms installed through our program. We are working with the Community Manager to solicit sign-ups in advance of our event day so our volunteers have minimal time out in the unpredictable January weather,” stated American Red Cross Community Volunteer Leader Donna Flory in a release.
