All Saints Church partnered with the church’s American Heritage Girls (AHG) Troop VA 0428 to collect cans of soup for the local food pantry at ACTS. In honor of the troop number, the goal was set to collect 428 cans.
AHG Troop VA0428 members and All Saints Church members were encouraged to brings cans of soup on or before February 7th (Super Bowl Sunday). In the church’s atrium, there were three different places for donations. People were encouraged to place their donations in the spot to vote for the reason they would watch the Super Bowl: 1. the AFC Champions, 2. the NFC Champions or 3. the commercials.
AHG girls helped pass out information about Souper Bowl Sunday on January 31. Then they helped collect the cans on Sunday, February 7th.
The beauty of this opportunity was to see the members of All Saints Church and the members of AHG Troop VA 0428 partner together to serve our local community.
The girls in AHG Troop VA 0428 met on Tuesday, February 9th to count and pack the cans. The final tallies were as follows: Broncos 359 soup cans, Panthers 262 soup cans, and Commercials 241 soup cans. Together, All Saints Church and AHG VA0428 collected 862 soup cans for the local food pantry at ACTS!
