American Heritage Girls Troop VA 0428 is collecting donations for the 5th year of Wreaths Across America.
According to Troop Leader Carrie Kilareski, Wreaths Across America is a non-profit that provides wreaths for national cemeteries, to honor the United States military during the holidays.
“Each year it’s just through donations, that these wreaths are provided for the national cemeteries across the country. Our troop helps to collect donations that all goes to the wreaths that will be laid at Arlington [National Cemetery],” said Kilareski.
2014 was the first time there was enough donation funding to provide wreaths for all of the graves at the Arlington National Cemetery, which continued in 2015. Kilareski hopes that the community will donate enough to ensure that all graves at the cemetery have a wreath again this year.
The wreaths are $15, but individuals can donate any amount to go toward wreaths, according to Kilareski.
Kilareski stated that the troop collections donations in-person, if you’re connected with the Troop, at their in-person donation collection sites, or online. All online donations must be made by November 28.

The wreaths will be laid at the Arlington National Cemetery on December 17, and any individuals can take part in the wreath laying, according to Kilareski.
