The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity held a successful CPR training day at the Hylton Boys & Girls Club in Woodbridge.
According to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority member Janeka Jones, there were more than 80 individuals that attended the training and 40 that received a CPR take-home kit.
“If you factor in the 2.5 multiplier we use for those who take kits home that translates to over 260 we trained in the community,” said Jones.
35 of the fraternity and sorority members were also trained in CPR at the event.
According to Jones, the sorority and fraternity are looking to do additional CPR training events with organizations like the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, and expand the trainings to other Boys & Girls Club locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
