If you’re looking for a spot to take in some 4th of July fireworks, then head to Manassas.
Starting back in the 1990s, Manassas has hosted ‘Celebrate America’ the largest fireworks event in Northern Virginia, according to a release.
During Celebrate America there will be children’s rides beginning at 3 p.m., pie baking contests, watermelon eating contests, and more, stated a release.
The fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m. stated a release.
Over the years the celebration has evolved, and with some brainstorming from Historic Manassas, Inc., the city has decided to offer not only the traditional view – but a rooftop experience as well.
This year the rooftop experience will include a front-row view of the fireworks display with a catered dinner, drinks, a photo booth, and games from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to a release. It’s important to note that residents will still be able to see the display, regardless of if they’re interested in the rooftop experience or not.
The rooftop experience will be held on top of the City’s parking garbage, and requires a ticket, stated a release. For more information about tickets for the rooftop seating, click here. www.visitmanassas.org
“We hope the concept of a bird’s eye view of the celebration will encourage local businesses to sponsor the fireworks display so we can continue to promote the Celebrate America event as one of the best in the Greater Manassas region,” stated City Manager W. Patrick Pate in a release.
During the fireworks event, the city’s parking garage will be closed to vehicle traffic, according to a release.
