A veteran-focused non-profit and Northern Virginia institution are joining forces.
Northern Virginia Veterans Association (NOVA Veterans), a non-profit that serves vulnerable veterans in Virginia, and George Mason University (GMU) are teaming up, according to a release from NOVA Veterans.
On February 16, NOVA Veterans and the university’s Military, Veterans, and Families Initiative (MVFI) are hosting a virtual event. It starts at 9 a.m
During the free program, Veteran Health Needs in the Pandemic, panelists will talk about the needs of veterans and creating solutions.
“Veterans serve our region in multiple ways from being outstanding business owners and employees to providing public representation to help ensure Veterans are not overlooked or disregarded,” Dr. Angela McConnell, President/CEO of NOVA Veterans said in a release. “The partnership of NOVA Veterans with George Mason University is an outstanding step in supporting GMU’s new Military, Veterans, & Families Initiative (MVFI).”
Anyone who would like to attend the online event may register on eventbrite.
A follow-up panel that focuses on the outcomes of solutions used is expected to take place in six months.
