Details of a new park and ride lot will be presented at Battlefield High School in Haymarket.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is hosting a “pardon our dust” meeting on Wednesday, according to a release.
Attendees will learn about work that will soon begin at the northeast corner of the I-66 and Route 15 interchange.
The project aims to relieve traffic congestion on I-66 by encouraging residents to carpool or take public transit.
The park and ride lot will feature a kiss-and-ride area, bicycle racks and lockers, and 230 commuter parking spaces.
Work is expected to start in April, and the lot is slated to open for public use in December.
Prince William drivers and citizens can learn more about the project and the construction schedule by attending Wednesday’s presentation, which begins at 7 p.m., or an open house that will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
