Northern Virginia students have a chance to unleash their creativity this month.
American Disposal Services and the American Recycling Center are seeking entries for an annual art contest.
Through October 31, first- through 12th-grade students can submit pieces that focus on how pollution affects the ocean, according to American Disposal Services.
Contest officials are accepting paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, and two and three-dimensional artwork.
Participants should include their name of the entries, which shouldn’t be framed.
Pieces that are no more than 28 inches in length, width or height must be mailed or brought to 10370 Central Park Drive in Manassas between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The first, second, and third-place winners will receive a cash prize. Their work will also be displayed at the American Recycling Center in Manassas.
