County police meet with Gospel Advocacy and Leadership Foundation (GALF) and Consuls from Central America
The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) seeks to address community issues.
Several agencies are helping the PWCPD meet this goal.
PWCPD Chief Barry Barnard and Deputy Chief Colonel Thompson met with staff members from the embassies of Central American countries last month.
Gospel Advocacy and Leadership Foundation (GALF) CEO Maddie Lupo set up the discussion.
In addition to working with the embassies to solve problems, the department hopes to develop relationships with citizens.
Building trust in the community can help PWCPD complete their work more effectively.
Meeting participants also spoke about using interpreters to remove language barriers and helping community members in need.
Individuals who are looking for help may go to GALF, a non-profit that can connect them with local resources.
