A local event is helping community members get into the holiday spirit.
WinterFest is scheduled for December 8.
It will offer activities, food and entertainment for residents and visitors of Occoquan, Lake Ridge and Lorton.
The fourth annual program is kicking off with Santa’s Lake Ridge Parade at 11:00 a.m., according to a release.
After the parade, a holiday arts market will be offered at Tackett’s Mill until 2 p.m.
Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., community members can participate in holiday activities throughout Occoquan, including marshmallow roasting.
The event will also offer a visit from Santa, music by the Dunbar Saxophone Quartet, and holiday carols by the Woodbridge Community Choir.
Citizens may visit Occoquan businesses, as well.
A fireworks display will be offered around 8 p.m.
Members of the public can participate in the Second Saturday Art Walk, which is taking place at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
