The Occoquan District Boy Scouts held their annual District Awards Dinner and honored Scouts and Troop Leaders that have helped the organization to succeed.
According to United States Army Retired Lieutenant General Bill Phillips, a speaker at the dinner, the District completed 13,525 community service hours over the past year.
“Leadership is absolutely worth study, so for the young generation of Boy Scouts that are out there, I absolutely encourage you to study and read about leadership. You are already leaders in some capacity…but you can always learn and grow as a leader,” said Phillips.
