Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) users will be receiving an extra gift this year.
The business is returning a total of $4 million in cashback to consumers.
Current customers will notice a credit on their December bills and former users will receive a check, according to a release.
NOVEC in Manassas uses income for operational purposes, to expand, and to restore power during outages.
Consumers receive cashback when the revenue exceeds business-related costs.
“NOVEC customers benefit from the Co-op’s strong corporate balance sheet that reflects our prudent financial and strategic planning,” NOVEC President and CEO Stan Feuerberg said in a release. “As a result, our board of directors approved a CashBack retirement of more than $4 million to be returned to customers this December — just in time for the holidays.”
