Two new data centers will be calling Prince William County “home.”
Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT) is building the facilities in Innovation Park, which is located in Manassas.
The Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) recently made the announcement, according to a release.
“We are pleased to support COPT’s growth in the county and within Innovation Park,” Supervisor Jeanine Lawson said in a release. “By providing a designated Data Center Opportunity Zone and positive business climate for high-caliber enterprise, the county provides an ideal environment that stimulates commercial growth which benefits businesses and residents alike.”
COPT is a company that owns, manages and develops sites for data centers. It has already begun constructing one of the buildings.
Through its Data Center Opportunity Zone Overlay District, the county provides more than 10,000 acres for facilities.
“Prince William County is a good choice for COPT to expand because of the abundant availability of land, power and low latency fiber connectivity found within Innovation Park,” COPT CEO Steve Budorick said in a release. “The county is a good partner in supporting our service delivery to our customers.”
