Prince William County residents can receive a history lesson on one community later this month.
The History Committee for Montclair is hosting a Montclair History Day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on September 15.
The committee, which is part of the Montclair Property Owners Association (MPOA), seeks to highlight the area’s rich history.
The event will occur at the Montclair Community Library and the Barnes House.
“It should be a fun day,” said Curtis Hoagland from the committee. “It’s designed for the community to come out and just learn about some of the history of Montclair.”
Attendees will be able to take a tour of the Barnes House and visit various stations.
“We’re going to have a[n] archaeological sifting station, where kids can sift through the dirt to try to find artifacts,” Hoagland said.
The event will also feature polling books, old newspaper clippings, and maps on the design of the locality.
