Community members will be celebrating the life of a well-known public figure in Woodbridge.
The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Program & Youth Oratorical Contest is taking place at Hylton Memorial Chapel on January 21.
Hosted by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (PWCAC-DST), the program’s theme will be “Small Things in Great Ways.”
Six students from middle and high schools in Prince William County, and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park will present speeches during the event, which begins at 11 a.m.
Kindergarten- through 12th-grade students who are members of the MLK Community Choir will perform, as well.
The winners of a writing contest local fourth and fifth graders may participate in will also be announced that day.
