For 27 years, Literacy Volunteers of America – Prince William (LVA-PW) has been teaching adults vital life skills.
An upcoming fundraiser will help the Woodbridge-based non-profit continue to fulfill its mission.
LVA-PW is hosting A Taste of Prince William on June 6.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at VFW Post 1503 in Dale City.
“We’re going to have menu items from over 30 of our local restaurants, we’re going to have free door prizes, we’re going to have wonderful opportunity baskets, we have a fabulous trivia contest,” LVA-PW Executive Director Debbie Abbott. “We would love to invite you, your family, your friends, your neighbors.”
LVA-PW seeks to teach adults various life skills, including reading and writing.
The Woodbridge-based literacy non-profit was established 27 years ago. It serves more than 700 adults annually.
“We’re the only program in the county that can take an adult today and help them start learning English, find a job, learn computer, get a driver’s license, help their children in school, and with all their other learning needs,” Abbott said.
Tickets for A Taste of Prince William cost $30 per person, and children 10 years old and young can attend for free.
Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so online, at the event, or at LVA-PW.
