Bilingual county residents have an opportunity to change someone’s life.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Prince William and Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Action (HOLA) is looking for extra help with a Latino Mental Health Awareness and Outreach program.
NAMI is a national mental health organization based out of Arlington. HOLA, a non-profit in Woodbridge, seeks to empower members of the Hispanic community.
Through the program, the two organizations are offering education and support to Spanish-speaking families, according to HOLA Program Manager Jose Guallar.
They are looking for volunteers who have been impacted by mental illness.
Interested individuals will receive free training about teaching NAMI Family to Family Education and NAMI “Ending the Silence,” and leading NAMI Family Support Group.
For additional information about the Latino Mental Health Awareness and Outreach program, email Guallar at firstname.lastname@example.org or Liz Downey from NAMI at info@nami-PW.org.
