The Lake Ridge Rotary raised $21,000 at the 20th annual Lake Ridge Rotary Celebrity Luncheon.
Held in Occoquan at Bistro L’Hermitage, members of the community, Rotary members, and elected officials had lunch, tipping their “celebrity” waiters for their service, with all of the proceeds going to the Rotary’s charitable causes.
This year’s charitable focus for the Lake Ridge Rotary is homelessness.
The $21,000 in net proceeds raised will be benefit Streetlight Ministries, providing funding to house four medically at-risk homeless individuals, The Good News Community Kitchen, Action in the Community Through Service, the Woodbridge Homeless Mission, and Shelter Box, a Rotary project that provides supplies to individuals in disaster situations.
Lake Ridge Rotary President Jason Hickman had several special “thank yous” to those that helped with the event.
“[Thank you to] all of our Celebrities, the Bistro L’ Hermitage (Youssef and all of his staff), our sponsors and guests, and a special thank you to Rotarian Allen McBride who made this the best Lake Ridge Rotary Celebrity Luncheon ever. We are proud of our community, humbled by their generosity, and committed to our mission and area of focus,” stated Hickman.
