One veteran has become the leader of a Prince William County environmental organization.
Lynda Kummelt has been named the new Executive Director of the Keep Prince William Beautiful (KPWB), according to release.
“I look forward to growing our volunteer base so our programs can have the best impact on the environment in Prince William County,” Kummelt said in a release. It has been encouraging to work with leaders in the community, government, and other nonprofits to make Prince William County a beautiful, thriving county.”
Kummelt has served as an intern and Environmental Programs Manager for the Dale City-based non-profit.
“The Board has been blown away by Lynda’s knowledge of the subject matter, her commitment to the community, and her ability to run a tight ship of staff and volunteers,” Sheyna Burt, Board of Directors president and owner of The Law Office of Sheyna Nicole Burt, said in a release.
In addition to working at KPWB, Kummelt owned a small business in Indiana and was United States Army Sergeant.
She received a bachelor’s in nutrition science and master’s in public health from Kaplan University in Iowa.
Kummelt is working toward a doctorate in public health.
