Individuals and groups can help spread joy to local kids.
House of Mercy (HOM) is accepting donations for its “Christmas with Mercy” program through December 13.
This year, it’s expected to serve more than 350 less fortunate children, according to a release.
“We are excited to continue this program for the 8th consecutive year,” HOM Executive Director Jessica Root said in a release. “It is so important to be able to show God’s love and Mercy and the importance of Christmas through this program of giving.”
Community members may bring gifts that cost between $20 and $25 to the HOM Donation Center, which is located at 8162 Flannery Court in Manassas.
The facility is open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
HOM, a Manassas-based non-profit, offers several free classes to the community, such as Cooking and Personal Money Management.
Children of course participants are eligible for the “Christmas with Mercy.”
Volunteer opportunities are available for the program.
“People may visit our website then follow the link to our SignUpGenius page, to sign up online for their volunteer job and time,” HOM Assistant Director Felice Hilton said in a release. “Volunteer slots start on Thursday December 13 and end with the event on Saturday December 15 when our client parents come to the gift distribution.”
