ECU Communications is a supporter of Leadership Prince William (LPW).
LPW aims to engage and inspire Prince William County youth leaders and adults who want to make a difference, according to the non-profit’s website.
What’s Up Prince William spoke with Jackie Krick, co-owner of ECU Communications, about its support of LPW.
What is ECU Communications?
ECU Communications stands for “Extreme Close Up,” which means that it’s the close look that we take at looking at our client’s goals and objectives, and really delivering to that. We really are a digital communications company. We were established in 2004 to be able to resonate with the public in providing great, exceptional service in the marketing/advertising platforms.
What makes ECU Communications a leader in the industry?
We believe that it takes a lot of different ingredients to be a leader in the industry. One of them is we understand the technology aspect of the work that we do. We’re constantly scanning the system to make sure that we deliver to our clients exactly what they need. We understand the various target audiences that we are reaching. And we have great people who are passionate about the work that we do.
What do you believe makes you personally successful as a leader?
Well, I care a lot about people. I care about communities. I care about providing great results for the work that we do. And I love collaboration. I think all of those areas are really important to be a leader.
Why does ECU Communications support Leadership Prince William?
It’s really important for our community to come together to understand what the community’s all about, to get a real good sense of why we are all here — grow leadership, grow leaders, support the youth academy. We have a non-profit organization, as well, that [provides] a great deal of support towards the youth academy. They are, essentially, our future leaders, and I believe that we need to spend enough time to craft them and help them grow in the right way so that they too can come back and do the same thing that we’re doing — maybe even better than we do. But I believe very much in supporting it. I definitely would recommend it to other folks.
How did Leadership Prince William help you grow?
It has provided a lot of opportunities in terms of getting to know the community and getting to know the landscape of our area — where we live, work and play. And we have made wonderful partnerships and incredible friendships. So, I cannot tell you anything more than just the fact that I love Leadership Prince William. It is a great organization, and it’s here to stay for years to come.
