Dumfries resident and waitress Regina Wilner won $250,000 from the Virginia Lottery.
According to a release, after Wilner bought the scratch ticket she went to work, not knowing that she had a winning ticket in her purse.
At first Wilner didn’t believe she had won with her Double Play ticket.
“I didn’t think I’d won. I asked my brother, ‘Am I seeing what I think I’m seeing,” stated Wilner in a release.
Wilner is the second individual to win the $250,000 prize in the Double Play game and two more of the top prizes remain unclaimed.
According to a release, Wilner “has no immediate plans for her winnings except to pay bills and save the rest.”
The odds of winning the top prize in this game are 1 in 1,040,400. The odds of winning any prize in $250,000 Double Play are 1 in 4.32.
